The Aizu snow community is passionate about their mountains. The snowboard culture is particularly strong. The young crew are focused on terrain parks. Older, more experienced skiers and snowboarders have all the mountain and backcountry dialled in. In this localised Japanese scene, being respectful is important.
Weekends are busy and mid-week is generally a lot quieter. So if you are planning on sightseeing, the weekends are a good time to have a rest and check things out in the area.
